Since July, many places in China have been attacked by heavy rainfall. For some areas, the risk of causing debris flow landslides and other geological disasters is increasing. Hence, how to accurately and quickly warn the geological disasters has become an important issue.

It is understood that Jiangxi Province has recently been hit by a rare heavy rainfall, resulting in Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture Dongxiang County, Yongjing County, Jishishan County flooding disaster of varying degrees. In order to prevent landslides caused by rainstorms, local workers installed ZH4 landslide monitoring and early warning extensometer in the crevices of Shanhonggou. Landslide early warning telescope is mainly used to monitor landslides and cracks, when the cracks expand, the early warning instrument will immediately alarm. After the alarm, the inspector reported Haruki and the township government to organize the technicians to check the scene.

It is precisely because of the use of the early warning telescopic instrument that in the several landslide disasters after the flood disaster, the staff checked in time and there was no casualty.

In addition to the use of monitoring and early warning telescopic instruments, in the early warning of geological disasters, there are still many places that use integrated monitoring wireless alarm devices. This is a monitoring instrument that can start the sound and light alarm at the first time when the rock body is displaced or cracked, and automatically send the warning signal to the monitoring department. The alarm device can generally be equipped with 5 wireless sensors, with a maximum transmission distance of 5 kilometers, which can be automatically positioned.

Natural disasters, as a great hazard, have already been studied by many departments. Since 2007, the hydrogeological environment geological survey center of China Geological Survey has begun to study the projects of "research and development and demonstration of group monitoring and monitoring technology for geological hazards" and "remote monitoring and early warning of typical gully debris flow".

The research team has developed more than 20 kinds of monitoring instruments for geological hazards in Yunnan, Sichuan and other counties (cities) with high risk of geological hazards, mainly including landslide early warning telescope, crack alarm, multi-parameter acquisition and transmission instrument, laser multi-point displacement monitor, automatic displacement monitoring and alarm device, magnetostrictive multi-point displacement monitor and geoacoustic self-monitoring instrument. Dynamic monitoring alarm device, debris flow monitoring analyzer, water content monitor, inclination early warning instrument, automatic transmission of early warning rain gauge, automatic monitoring and alarm device of debris flow video.

As an important part of instrument industry, monitoring instruments play an extremely prominent role in environmental monitoring, geological disasters, industrial production and other aspects, ensuring the normal operation of people's production and life. According to statistics from the emergency management department of natural resources supplementary geological disasters, 219 geological disasters were successfully predicted nationwide from January to July this year, with 16,691 casualties avoided and 590 million yuan of direct economic losses avoided. Among them, various monitoring instruments have made great contributions.

With the development of technology, more and more advanced monitoring instruments and UAVs equipped with monitoring instruments are being developed to better monitor geological disasters. Recently, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province has laid out 200 professional monitoring instruments to monitor the hidden dangers, monitoring data can be transmitted to professional units through the information platform for accurate analysis and judgment, to minimize the occurrence of accidents. In the future, we will surely see more advanced and accurate monitoring instruments to maximize the monitoring of the occurrence of geological disasters, and reduce the resulting harm.
